Bokator- Cambodian (Khmer )Martial Arts

Bokator- Cambodian (Khmer )Martial Arts What is Bokator? Bokator is an ancient Khmer martial art that is said to be over a thousand years old. It was created by a Cambodian(Khmer)king Suriyavarman II in the 12th century. In the old days, it was used as a fighting technique in war. Now, it is a part of Cambodia’s history and tradition. It continues to be taught to children and adults in Cambodia. You will learn the ancient art of self-defense and how to protect yourself in the event of an attack. Beginners will learn elbow strikes, punches, kicks, knee strikes, jumping, defense tactics and counter attacks. Meditation is an integral part of every Bokator class and it is practiced at the end of the class. The Bokator lesson lasts 45 minutes and is followed directly by 30 minutes of meditation. Why is Meditation so important? Meditation helps to relax the mind and body. This is particularly important for beginners to balance the energy used for learning how to fight. Before each meditation session begins, you will receive several key teachings on which to focus. We then sit in silence for 20 minutes and afterwards, you will have the option of sharing your insights to integrate your learning process. What are the benefits of Bokator and Meditation? There are so many! You will learn how to stay fit, protect yourself, stay calm under pressure, distress, and prepare your mind and body for a good night’s sleep! But don’t take my word for it. #Reference...https://www.scmp.com/lifestyle/article/2142056/ancient-martial-art-spawned-muay-thai-undergoes-rebirth-cambodia-thanks?fbclid=IwAR0GgE8p5V28H-VT-czjPjLti1dHvxSULmQ8yhNaZEtJb5zPOuxy7Hyxjew
